  • Answer: The Autumn School on AI is an educational program designed for students, graduates, and faculty from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Medicine, and the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences from Lebanese Universities. It aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to AI and machine learning.

• How can I apply for the Autumn School on AI?

  • Answer: Application details and deadlines will be provided on the official event website. Please stay tuned for updates.

• Is there a registration fee for the Autumn School on AI?

  • Answer: There is no registration fee for attenidng the Autumn School on AI. Catering (Coffee and Lunch Breaks) will be provided for the participants. Bus Transportation and Lunch boxes for the Excursion will be provided as well

• Do I need prior programming experience in Python to attend this program?

  • Answer: While prior Python experience is not mandatory, it is highly recommended. A basic understanding of Python will be beneficial for participants as AI and machine learning often involve coding in Python.

• What resources do you recommend for beginners to learn Python before the Autumn School on AI?

  • Answer: We suggest online platforms like Codecademy, Coursera, edX, or Python.org’s official documentation for Python beginners.

• Will there be any pre-work or Python tutorials provided before the Autumn School begins?

  • Answer: Yes, we will provide pre-work materials and Python tutorials to help participants prepare for the program. These resources will be accessible prior to the start of the Autumn School.

• What can I expect from the Autumn School program?

  • Answer: The program will include lectures, hands-on labs, practical exercises, and workshops led by skilled tutors. You will receive a comprehensive introduction to AI and machine learning, along with opportunities for collaboration and project implementation.

  • Answer: We will design the program to accommodate diverse backgrounds. Participants will be grouped in tandem with CS/IT backgrounds, and coaching will be provided to ensure everyone can follow along and engage effectively in the exercises.

• Tell me more about the hackathon mentioned in the program.

  • Answer: The hackathon is an exciting part of the Autumn School where participants will work in teams to implement AI/ML projects from start to finish. It’s an opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in a real-world scenario and showcase your skills.

• What resources and support will be available during the hackathon to help us implement our projects successfully?

  • Answer: Mentors and skilled tutors and resources such as datasets, libraries, and tools will be provided to support your project development. Mentors will be available to guide and assist your team throughout the hackathon.

• Why may the Autumn School be moved from Lebanon to Germany?

  • Answer: The decision to move the Autumn School to Germany is primarily due to the current situation in Lebanon, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

• How many participants will be accommodated in Germany, and what is the diversity of the group?

  • Answer: In Germany, we will be hosting around 20 students and 5 faculty members. This group will be carefully selected to maintain diversity in terms of academic status, academic field/discipline, and gender balance.

• What costs will be covered for the participants attending in Germany?

  • Answer: We will cover the costs of accommodation and travel tickets for all participants attending the Autumn School in Germany.

• Will the program duration change with the shift to Germany?

  • Answer: Yes, the program may be shortened to 3 days, with an additional 2 days allocated for arrival and departure. This adjustment is designed to accommodate the changes in location and logistics.

• Are there any changes to the previously planned dates for the Autumn School?

  • Answer: Yes, the dates for the Autumn School in Germany are anticipated to be from 14th to 18th December, to facilitate a smooth transition and ensure participants have ample time to make travel arrangements.

• How will the curriculum and activities be adapted to the new location and duration?

  • Answer: The curriculum and activities will be adjusted to make the most of the shortened timeframe while maintaining the core learning objectives and hands-on experiences. The academic quality and content of the program will not be compromised.

• What measures are being taken to ensure a seamless transition for participants traveling from Lebanon to Germany?

  • Answer: We are working diligently to provide guidance and support to participants regarding travel arrangements, visas, and other logistics to ensure a smooth transition.
